Idego Group participated as a platinum partner at the Pytech Summit 2022, which commenced on May 17th. This major Python-focused conference provided an opportunity for the company to showcase its expertise.

Karol, a Senior Software Architect at Idego, presented a talk titled "How to Create a Monster in Django and DRF." The presentation addressed common pitfalls in Django and Django REST Framework development.

The speaker illustrated a typical three-act tragedy: initial rapid development with attractive solutions that accelerate work, followed by successful feature expansion to satisfy investors, and ultimately a project that becomes unmaintainable after several years. The talk examined how certain popular ecosystem practices initially seem beneficial but eventually become problematic. Attendees learned about good and bad programming practices that affect long-term project sustainability, along with practical alternatives to abandoning such projects.

Karol Sikora brings over fifteen years of programming experience across various languages, from assembly to functional programming, with extensive professional Python work. He maintains particular interest in recent developments in typing and asynchronous programming.
